Guangzhou LNG Emergency Peaking-Shaving Station is located in Xiaohu Island, Nansha District, Guangzhou. The Project Phase I is designed for a turnover of 1 million tonnes/year, mainly including two LNG storage tanks of 160,000 cubic meters, three pressurized gasification production lines, and related supporting equipment and facilities. It has a dedicated terminal for berthing LNG vessels with a capacity of 30,000 to 147,000 cubic metres, of which the hydraulic structure is built to berth LNG vessels with a capacity of 180,000 cubic metres. The Project Phase I has been put into operation in August 2023. The Projet Phase II, which consists of two 160,000-cubic-meter LNG storage tanks will begin construction soon.
 
As a vital energy infrastructure project in South China, the Guangzhou LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) Emergency Peak-Shaving Gas Supply Station plays a critical role in ensuring the stability and security of urban gas supply in the Greater Bay Area.and is listed as the provincial and municipal “14th Five-Year Plan” energy development special plan. It is the key construction projects in Guangdong Guangzhou, which can meet the emergency protection needs of Guangzhou for 10 days.
 
HalcrowSea conducted the feasibility study for the project's water intake and outlet facilities, partnering with a domestic design institute to establish design standards, parameters, and sea area usage for the intake zone. The scopes included preliminary design (including cost estimates), construction drawing design, procurement support, and construction management services.
