Zhiwan Island LNG Terminal, Macao, China

To facilitate the development of green energy industry in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
Macao Natural Gas C., Ltd planned to develop Zhiwan Island LNG Terminal located on an offshore islet adjacent to Macao. It is a benchmark project to facilitate the development of green energy industry in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
 
The Phase I Project is capable of receiving LNG of 5 MTPA, and 10 MTPA for Phase II including 3*200,000m³ LNG tanks for each phase respectively. A variety of facilities for the purpose of LNG ship loading/unloading, LNG storage, LNG gasification, LNG transshipment tanker loading/unloading etc. will be developed at the terminal.
 
As the engineering consultant of the project, HalcrowSea was in charge of the feasibility study of the LNG terminal, cold energy utilization study, seawater intake & outfall feasibility study etc. Other works involved review of the existing pre-feasibility reports in regards to jetties, pipelines, special study reports, and assistance with authority liaison affairs.
 
Jointly constructed by Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao stakeholders, the project will provide strong support for the development of clean energy and energy security in the Greater Bay Area.
