Taicang FSRU LNG Hub, Jiangsu, China

The first LNG FSRU project to be planned in Yangtze River of China.

GCL planned to construct the first “LNG Transshipping Centre” in the Yangtze River Basin using Floating Storage Re-gasification Unit (FSRU), which would provide sufficient natural gas to power stations of GCL, and the natural gas would also be transshipped to other end users in Jiangsu province as well.

HalcrowSea conducted a Conceptual Design of GCL LNG FSRU Project”. Based on initial market survey, the designed scale of phase one is 1.1 MPTA, 2.25 MTPA for phase two and 5 MTPA for future expansion.

HalcrowsSea developed conceptual design screening among three proposed LNG terminal site locations: Yanglinkou, Xinjing and Tiehuangsha, illustrating advantages and disadvantages for each location, and recommended FSRU conversion plan from existing LNGC, including general arrangement, conversion and classification process, stability analysis, equipment outfitting, and hull disciplines, etc. Moreover, cost estimate, risk identification and mitigation measures for the project were also accomplished in the study.
